Bride & Groom Photography

Posted In: Wedding Photography

Bride & groom photography is all about capturing a series of beautiful memories. These images will hopefully be seen by generations to come, so they need to capture the essence of the day and the personality of the couple.

I love photographing the couple after the ceremony, but am very conscious that I need to get excellent images in a short amount of time. You hear horror stories where a couple are taken away for a few hours! How boring for them, they must spend that time thinking about the family and friends they are missing, not to mention the opportunity to enjoy the drinks reception!

Another thought that I have is for the venue, who will have a huge number of meals to prepare. They need confidence to know the accurate time that they will be serving them. For that reason I will always ask the wedding organiser about these plans and then play my part to keep the day moving to time.

Having already researched the venue, grounds and seen the opportunities I will have a good idea of the best places to take the portraits of the bride & groom. Often they will have ideas themselves which is good too.

Here are some examples of bride & groom photography which I hope you like. If you would like to request a price list and check my availably for your wedding please get in touch.

I love the autumn colours at this November wedding in Edinburgh

There is the opportunity to use beautiful natural settings, like this one at Altskeith House, Loch Ard

…and be adventurous. Here is the same couple as before who got in the Altskeith House rowing boat and out onto Loch Ard. This allowed me to get some fantastic photographs.

This wedding was at Duchy Castle, Aberfoyle in the Trossachs. The grounds are amazing and it was a good time for the wedding with the bluebells out.

I am based in Loch Lomond and whilst I cover weddings throughout Scotland there are some amazing settings on my doorstep. This one is the Cruin.

Quite often I will step back, leave the bride & groom to it and capture the images from a distance so that I don’t disturb the moment.

Here is a series of photographs from a wedding at Glasgow Cathedral. Lots of good places nearby for Bride & Groom Portraits.

In Drymen, Loch Lomond which is where I am based there is the viewpoint, ideal if you are getting married at The Buchanan Arms Hotel.

I’ll often make the last pages of the Wedding Album a picture like this. I call it the ‘Happy Ever After’ photograph. It tells the story of how two become one, with a shared life ahead of them.
