Family Photography Sessions: What to Expect

Posted In: Family Photography

Family Photography made simple, from start to finish and that’s a promise! This blog will help you to know what to expect and how to get the best out of the experience.

Family Photography Sessions are fun and very informal

Family Photography Sessions are fun and very informal

A fun experience…

It is an experience that is actually good fun! The fun is helped by the location -which you pick. No dragging the family into an industrial estate unit where the walls and floor are painted white for you to stand awkwardly in your bare feet, melting under the studio lights.

For my Family Photography Sessions we can use your home, garden, a nearby public place or a combination of all three. Whilst  many of my clients choose the countryside, with Loch Lomond being a favourite, sessions can also be in the city which brings out great textures and vibrant colours.

Location, Location, Location…

So no bright studio lights, just a natural environment using lots of different backgrounds and places. Keeping the session moving and fun brings the best out of people; the whole thing is relaxed and believe it or not even enjoyable for the camera shy amongst us!

Let’s go through the process from booking to final product to give you an idea of how it works.

I offer a package price of £275 for a session that typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. The price includes the photography, editing of pictures, digital files, slideshow to music and £50 to spend on prints, wall pictures or an album. To find out more read my blog Family Photography New Package.

Sessions can be arranged for locations within 40 miles of Glasgow, Edinburgh or Stirling. I will travel further distances for a small extra fee (price on application). Just have a think about where you want the photography to take place and when you’d like it to happen (they are available 7 days a week, subject to availability).

Dog, Kids, Family, Photography

I also photograph pets, especially dogs and horses!

Beautiful Moments, Captured Forever…

I often cover family celebrations, occasions and gatherings so that can easily be arranged. In terms of people I’ve photographed babies that are a few days old to people who are a 100 and don’t worry about teenagers, they’re the easiest to photograph!

Either when you book or nearer the time of photography we can speak on the phone to chat through how the session will work. I can answer any of your questions and we can plan locations, groups and get an idea of the photographs that you would like.

Jumping now to the end result which will be a collection of Family Photographs that I hope you will love, I can make your favourite images into framed pictures, contemporary wall pictures, canvases, albums or supply digital versions and a slideshow. If you want to find out more about my special package price and what is included please read my blog post Family Photography New Package.

I hope that you’ve found this useful. Whilst it gives you my structure to the process what I love most is that every single photography session is completely different as you can see from the example images.
