Favourite Wedding Venues In Scotland
Here are some of my favourite wedding venues in Scotland, with details about them and of course some photographs to show you what a wedding looks like there. I’ve also added in some thoughts about why I like them as they are all ones that I have photographed one or more wedding at.
The list is in no particular order and if you want to find out more about my Wedding Photography Services, for one of these, or indeed any other Scottish venue please get in touch via the Contact Page, or by calling 01360 661029.
Altskeith House, Loch Ard, Near Aberfyole
Let’s start with an absolute cracker. I love photographing weddings at Altskeith House. The owners Alison and Yas are a delight to work with and put enormous effort into making weddings a success. You can see for yourself with these examples!
The Cruin, Loch Lomond
A perfect loch side venue, perfect for capturing some amazing wedding photographs with the Loch Lomond backdrop.

Glenturret Distillery, Near Crieff, Perthshire
The oldest distillery in Scotland, offers a modern environment for weddings. Superb catering on-site too by Wilde Thyme Catering. Lots of nice photography opportunities both in and around the distillery and nearby.
Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow
This hotel had a massive refurbishment programme a few years ago. The result is an excellent venue, one very worthy of its Grand title. Huge chandeliers and spacious rooms. Lots of interesting places for photography all around the hotel.
Knockderry Country House Hotel, Near Helensburgh
A favourite. An intimate and beautiful wedding venue, on the banks of Loch Long. Beth and Murdo, the owners will look after you superbly. I’ve photographed some small and very beautiful weddings at Knockderry.

Duchray Castle, Near Aberfoyle
Another brilliant venue deep in the Trossachs. A very special place to get married, ideal if you are looking for a memorable venue to stage a smaller wedding in.
The Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh
You can’t get a more iconic city centre location than this one. The Balmoral as you would expect has grand rooms, but you may not know that it also has a roof top area. The roof can only be accessed with permission, so it’s a pretty exclusive opportunity for couples to get photographed looking out over Edinburgh.
The Lodge on Loch Lomond
A very popular wedding venue, with a couple of room options. There is a beach that can be used for outdoor weddings and there is a recently added jetty. Stunning views over Loch Lomond from all over the hotel. Nearby there is the beautiful village of Luss, with again more photography opportunities.
The Hub, Royal Mile, Edinburgh
Hope you are enjoying discovering some of my Favourite Wedding Venues in Scotland, please get in touch if you are interested in Wedding Photography. The Hub, is in the heart of Edinburgh, on the Royal Mille, an unusual, but very interesting building. Look how good it looks, all dressed and lit-up for a wedding.
Gleddoch House Hotel, Port Glasgow
Not far from the Erskine Bridge this venue works well for weddings with beautiful grounds and views over towards the River Clyde.
The Buchanan Arms Hotel, Drymen, Loch Lomond
I can see this venue from my house, but it’s not just the short travel distance that I like. There are some nice grounds, plus just across the road there is the Viewpoint, again ideal for photographs.
Norton House Hotel, Edinburgh
A busy wedding venue just outside Edinburgh. Lots of space with some interesting rooms and outdoor areas.

Killearn Village Hall, Stirlingshire
This is just a few miles from where I am based. A recently modernised village hall, with catering by the well known award-winning Three Sisters Bake. Lots of good spots for photography, including a balcony.
Duntreath Castle, Blanefield, Glasgow
Lady Edmonstone, the owner of Duntreath Castle will look after you personally, and help you organise your wedding. Weddings take place in marquees, amongst the stunning castle grounds.
Loch Lomond Waterfront, Balmaha, Loch Lomond
Just a few miles from my house. I know this venue well. A nice light area for indoor weddings, plus they also have outdoor land on the loch side. Lovely lodges too for you and your guests to stay in. A great wedding venue.

Culcreuch Castle, Fintry, Stirlingshire
Set in beautiful countryside this is a popular wedding venue. Great backdrops of the castle and its grounds for photography, plus some good rooms too.
Brig O’Doon House Hotel, Ayrshire
An iconic Scottish venue, just across from the Robert Burns Memorial Gardens.
Cameron House Hotel, Loch Lomond
A classic Loch Lomond location, perhaps the most well known one. A five star hotel on the bonnie banks.
