I really hope that you like this blog, I chose the photographs randomly on a cold Wednesday night in January. The photographs all represented warm and happy moments from weddings that I have photographed around Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Ayrshire and Edinburgh. I quickly chose a selection of images from my photography library to feature, there is quite an assortment, they all show each wedding is special and totally unique. If you would like me to quote to photograph your wedding in Scotland please do get in touch.
I’m always looking to capture those little touches that have been so meticulously prepared, the colours, vibrancy and unique look of each wedding.
Sometimes I know in advance where those moments are likely to be. Below you can see the Red Hot Chilli Pipers playing at The Lodge on Loch Lomond. A surprise for all of the guests.
Sometimes though it’s just the pure emotional moments that just happen. Like below when the bride reacts to her father starting to cry after seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress.
It’s story telling. Who cares if it rains, why hide it, let’s not photoshop in blue skies but have some fun with umbrellas instead!
The moment at a a very small wedding at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh when the newly married couple exit from the service to find a huge crowd waitng!
The bride on a tyre swing at Duchray Castle in Aberfoyle. I love the fun the spontaneity, the capturing of moments that you know they will treasure.
I love the speeches, I’ve heard some pretty amazing ones. You can’t help but laugh, or cry during some of them, the stories told are incredible.
It’s amazing to think that in 20 years time, or more that the wedding photographs are going to be viewed by a whole new generation.
It’s important to get they key moments, the family groups and the bride and groom portraits. But these moments really do tell the unique story of a wedding.
Here’s a few more that I wanted to share. Lots of laughter, fun and happiness. Well it is a wedding after all!!
